Feeling good about yourself can seem like a long way away if you do not feel like that right now. But there is nothing better than feeling good about who you are and where you are in life, and that is something that everyone should be striving for.
Here are 10 things you can do daily to help you feel good about yourself.
1. Work hard
Whatever job you do – do it well. It doesn’t matter what you do as a career as long as you do it the best you can. The satisfaction that comes from working hard and doing the best you can will instantly make you feel like a winner and someone who puts their effort into things. This will make you feel successful and push you forward in your career.
2. Do what you love as a career
When you are working for something you believe in you will be happier than if you work for something you can’t stand. This makes sense right? But so many people are working at jobs they hate, and find themselves spending their days complaining and wishing they were doing something else. We spend a lot of time at work and we should be doing what makes us feel good.
Whatever makes you happiest is what you should be doing. You can become anything you want. You can do whatever you want. You just have to put the work in to get there. If you need education then get it. If you need skills then acquire them. If you need to just get off your butt and go for it then do that! Do what you got to do to do what you love.
3. Do what you love in life
Everyone has different passions and activities that they enjoy. Not engaging in these activities is stifling your happiness. When you get to do what you love you feel good naturally. So get out and do what you love! Find the time in your day to do something that makes you feel good.
4. Be kind to others
Being a good person to others makes you feel good instantly. Ever heard of the smile effect? If you smile at someone then they will pass it on. Soon your initial smile may have caused a smile in another country! The point is if you are kind to others you will make them feel good and affect their day positively. This will make you feel good just knowing that.
5. Be thankful
Spend some time being thankful for the things in your life that make you happy. It may be your spouse, your pets, or your new kindle. Whatever it is take some time to really feel good about it and you will carry that happy feeling into other things in your day.
6. Make a difference in the world
Whether you donate to a charity or help an elderly person at the grocery store, you can make a difference in the world daily. Things like recycling, composting, and being conscious of our world are all things that can make a difference. Helping others, and being aware of others needs and desires, can also make a difference. You will feel great about yourself because you are impacting this world in a positive way.
7. Stop complaining
When you complain you feel bad. There is no way that you can complain and feel good at the same time. So do what you got to do to stop complaining! Take action and make those things you complain about better. And try to accept the things you cannot change. You will find you feel better about yourself and your life just from this one-act alone.
8. Take care of yourself physically
Make better food decisions when you sit down to eat. Try to eliminate processed food and start to eat more fresh and organic food. Avoid sugar and eat more naturally sweet treats like fruit. Start exercising at every chance you get and get your body feeling great! Your digestive system will improve, your body will tone up, and you will feel like a million bucks.
9. Take care of yourself mentally
A golden rule is to strive to be better every day. Whatever issues you are having should be things on your to do a list of things to work on and make better. Personal development is crucial to moving forward in life and feeling good about yourself. If you stay in the same spot for life you will feel the same for life. Get growing!
10. Change negative thoughts
Whether you have to use positive affirmations or just give yourself a tap on the head to break the thoughts – stop thinking negatively. Negative thoughts put you in a place that is the exact opposite of feeling good. They bring you down and hold you there by becoming beliefs. So if you think you are fat, even if you are not, you will soon believe it to the core of your being. How can you feel good when you believe something negative? Work on affirming to yourself positive thoughts and soon those positive thoughts will become your beliefs. Then you will start to feel really good about yourself.
